The 65cm Opti Ball is a uniquely transparent Swiss Ball, otherwise known as Gym Balls, Exercise Balls, Body Balls or office chairs.
Transparent trainer and therapist balls
The Gymnic Opti Ball is transparent, allowing trainers and physiotherapists to better see their client's positioning through the ball to get correct posture and movement positioning.
They are great exercise balls, allowing you to have fun while getting into shape. Their striking transparency also makes them good for dance, Pilates & other body movement based programs, aerobics and other fitness programs.
As office chairs they allow for dynamic sitting, which is fun and helps tone your core stability muscles.
Body Ball Exercises only
Despite Gymnic's renown reputation for making exercise balls of high durability, the Opti Ball is only designed for body weight exercises and activities only. These exercise balls are not burst resistant and will split if damaged by a sharp object or if they incur other forms of damage. Using them with weights or other equipment would pose an unnecessary risk of injury to the user if the Gym Ball were to burst during exercising while doing such activities.
Exercise Ball Sizing
You can size a ball for exercise purposes by assuring your knees are at a right angle when sitting straight on the ball. The 65cm balls generally are best for female users with a height of 5'6" - 6'0" (170-184cm), and male users of 6'0" - 6'4" (185-193cm) in height.
Swiss Ball Care
The Gymnic Opti Balls are very durable, and have even been used with horses in outdoor facilities, however, they are NOT burst resistant. Do your best to keep the area where the balls are used free from sharp or pointed objects. Do not use a ball that has a leak in it as it is likely to burst when pressure is applied through use or reinflation. Balls will lose some air over time and may be re-inflated safely, but a ball that loses air quickly should be retired from use.
The first time you inflate your Gym Ball, fill it with a basic manual pump (usually a basic hand pump - it doesn't need a special needle) until it is only gently inflated, and leave it for an hour or two to become more pliable. Then continue to increase the internal pressure in small increments until it is of a desired size that is close to 55cm. After a few hours, the ball will be more pliable and you can add more air at that time.
If you need to deflate your Opti Gymnic Ball, use a spoon to safely remove the plug, so you don't damage the ball's material or yourself while trying to remove the plug.
Manufacturing & Materials
Ledraplastic SpA, the manufacturer of the Gymnic exercise ball line, was founded in 1963 and became a pioneer in the processing of non-toxic vinyl. The materials used are of the highest quality thus ensuring compliance with stringent physiotherapy product regulations in the European Union and United States.
Made in Italy with no toxic emissions, the balls are made of phthalate-free, latex-free and BPA-free vinyl that is durable enough for use in exercise class and physical therapy settings.
